Data are initially released to the public via the CBE’s website: (http://www.cbe.org.eg). A notice to this effect is published in the CBE's monthly Statistical Bulletin. These data are also disseminated in the said Bulletin, the quarterly Economic Review, and the Annual Report. These documents are available freely by the CBE, either by subscription or distribution.

The balance sheet of the CBE is published, based on the concept of reserve money (monetary base), and its counterpart assets classified into net claims on banks, net claims on government, net foreign assets, and other items (net), in accordance with the IMF Money and Banking Manual.

Scope of the data (coverage of, e.g., institutional units, transactions and stock, commodities, industries, and geographic areas)

 

All items on assets and liabilities of the CBE on stock basis. Assets are classified into domestic and foreign. The former is broken down by institution. The latter is shown on gross basis.

On transaction -by-transaction basis. Valuation in accordance with international standards.

Nature of the basic data (e.g., administrative records, surveys censuses, combinations of these)

 

Administrative and accounting records.

Accounting is on fiscal year basis.
